The selected candidate will join a well-known, well-respected global company with a world-class procurement organization.  This person will have the opportunity to travel extensively (up to 75%) – getting to know their clients well.  This position will hold responsibility for supporting the travel sourcing services for both internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities of Procurement Professional Position

  • Sourcing travel commodities for internal and external clients, maintaining compliance with procurement strategies.
    • Hotel
    • Car rental
    • Air
    • On-line booking
    • Agency
  • Obtaining substantial savings goals by complex contract negotiation with suppliers
  • Affirm high satisfaction levels in all interactions with internal and external clients on a daily basis
  • Advise all organizational levels of clients, suppliers and internal procurement
  • Calculate and record cost savings for internal and external clients
  • Continuously scrutinizing supplier performance; pushing continuous improvements and corrective actions as necessary
  • Lead collaboration, process alignment, and knowledge management across the procurement process
  • Conduct demonstrations, location set-ups, training, administration and reporting on various travel technology applications for internal and external clients

Essential Qualifications and/or Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Procurement Experience:  Two or more years
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%
    • Typical schedule is traveling M-F; home for Weekends
  • Clearly demonstrated communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Clearly demonstrated interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Strong ability to work across multiple international locations with all levels of an organization
  • Clearly demonstrated negotiation skills; must be able to balance client needs with cost effectiveness
  • Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of associated tools (database).  Capability to spot potential areas for savings

  • Travel Industry knowledge:  Two or more years
