Our client is a leading Non-Profit group purchasing organization based on Long Island.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, develop, and maintain Category Business Plans
- Evaluate RFP which includes benchmarking the value proposition from competitive or existing contract vehicles
- Work with the analytics team on the benchmarking of contracts to create Best In Class contracts
- Establishes and maintains effective channels of communication and working relationships with members
- Develops negotiation strategies based on vendor response and market analysis to identify possible outcomes.
- Guides the evaluation team to award the contract to the most qualified vendor(s) based on relevant criteria.
- Maintains an active working knowledge of the category based upon market research including attending conferences and trade shows.
- Monitors performance of supplier against contract obligations and serves as a resource to resolve issues/problems.
- Monitors supplier market research in collaboration with research analysts to identify appropriate opportunities resulting from new product offerings and/or market shifts.
- Conduct research and analysis to determine new product offerings/changes in the marketplace and report to team lead on new opportunities.
Essential Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required, Master’s Degree a plus
- 5-15 years’ experience in procurement with public procurement experience a plus
- Ability to work independently as well as in a group setting
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel and knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word & PowerPoint
- Excellent communications and management skills
- Professional Certifications preferred (CPSM)
- Travel Requirement 30%
