Key Responsibilities of Director of Procurement Position
- Manages a team of Buyers. The categories managed will include Marketing, IT, Travel, Capital, Corporate Services, Food, and Facilities Services.
- Drives tactical and strategic direction for team including, process improvements, cost reduction, strategic sourcing plans, supplier selection, negotiation planning, contract development, supplier performance management, and supply base optimization.
- Works closely with senior stakeholders, President, CFO, Global Sourcing team and business partners to ensure Strategic Sourcing is aligned and supporting business unit objectives as well Client company objectives.
- The position’s responsibility requires a partnership with the CIO and the Director of Capex. Serves as the point of contact and will be directly involved in any initiatives that support the eCommerce team. This will include regular updates to senior management on major sourcing opportunities and new business process improvements.
- Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications and/or Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrated knowledge of eCommerce systems (OneSource and ePro).
- A minimum of 8 years of work related experience to include experience managing multiple sourcing areas including Corporate Services, Travel, Marketing, and Facilities Services.
- Work experience to include an advanced understanding of traditional purchasing best practices.
- Experience developing long range sourcing plans.
- Experience negotiating large purchase agreements and developing contracts.
- Extensive experience and ability to meet aggressive cost reduction targets.
- Demonstrated leadership experience to include experience in managing and mentoring sourcing professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with senior management and ability to influence and partner with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated project management skills, effective problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong integrity with highest level of ethical standards.
