Key Responsibilities of Sourcing Specialist Position

The Global Procurement will be responsible for the internal spend analysis, and external market benchmarking, of assigned spend and/or supplier categories. The analytics combined with subject matter expertise will be instrumental in the definition and execution of strategic sourcing plans from ideation to contract completion. The successful candidate will support Category Leads, and liaise closely with other functional disciplines. This individual will compose and effectively communicate project charters, develop KPI’s and track progress against plan. This is an important role and an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being part of building new capability and establishing best in class practices in a dynamic environment.

  • Build, maintain, and regularly refresh the company spend database.
  • Support category managers during strategic sourcing process:
    • Conduct supply market analysis using standard practices and tools.
    • Research industry benchmarks (pricing, quality, product changes, service levels, trends).
    • Create and refine cost models for sourced goods/services.
    • Develop RFQ and analyze vendor responses (pricing, qualitative items).
    • Assist Category Leads with auction planning and execution.
    • Conduct analyses in support of supplier negotiations. Create supporting materials for team’s negotiation preparation.
    • Assist in developing savings tracking approach for category.
  • Extracts data and reports from systems.
  • Calculate and report results of sourcing process (annual identified savings).
  • Support creation of communication documents for stakeholders and sponsors.
  • Provide insights on category spend and savings opportunities based on experience working with other category teams.
  • Develop strong working relationships with other members of Procurement team, and functions.
  • Train Procurement team members worldwide on analytics and eSourcing tools.
  • Support other special procurement activities and analyses as needed.

Essential Qualifications and/or Requirements

  • A minimum of three to five years of analytical experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in in relevant field.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Proficient in the use of I.T software (SAP/ERP, eSourcing platforms, Microsoft Excel, Access and SharePoint, SQL Databases)
  • Knowledge of procurement and strategic sourcing processes.
  • Knowledge of multiple product and service spend categories.
  • Experience with MNC in manufacturing environment.
  • An ability to think conceptually
  • Strong interpersonal skills, organized, and excellent problem solving skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Fluent in English.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • A second language is a plus.
