Key Responsibilities of Strategic Sourcing Manager, Equipment Position

  • Aids in the design and execution of the global procurement strategies for process equipment
  • Is seen by external and internal customers alike as the process equipment subject matter expert
  • Discovers, creates and cultivates supplier and customer relationships
  • Combines and analyzes data for reports to management
  • Aids in the design of policies and initiatives for global supply chain
  • Tracks contracts and generates reports on a computer-based contract system
  • Confirms that all categories maintain compliance with company rules and regulations
  • Aids in running the supply chain category groups allowing all company sites to successfully execute procurement deliverables
  • Works in conjunction with various regional teams and suppliers to technically and commercially evaluate process equipment for each global project
  • Aids with local, regional and global supply chain solutions by keeping up-to-date with all information on relevant commodities
  • Maintains final responsibility for locating and realizing annual cost savings and process improvements
  • Develops various reports on changing technologies, market conditions and trends
  • Aids in aligning corporate requirements with customer’s procurement needs by periodically surveying customers
  • Delivers technical assistance related to process equipment operational issues
  • Prepares various reports on customer satisfaction and category performance
  • According to company policy, recommends modifications to current and developing contracts
  • Aids and holds up category priorities based on opportunities and benefits
  • Aids in the creation of various process equipment models, including price discipline, should cost and total cost of ownership

Essential Qualifications and/or Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or Accounting (or similar related field)
  • At least eight years experience in the mining industry, including operations, maintenance, planning, and equipment supply
  • Substantial knowledge of mining equipment suppliers and this industry
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office Suite and Microsoft XP

Desired Qualifications

  • Contract and purchase negotiation and development skills
  • CPM Certification
  • Combination of mining experience both domestically and internationally
