Highlights of Supply Chain Director Opportunity

This role will be directly accountable for hundreds of staff members, who are directly connected with all of the Supply Chain functionality.  This role is also directly accountable as well as responsible for billions in annual spend.  This role simultaneously oversees supplier relationship management for over 1000 commodities and services suppliers and runs the movement of millions of tons of ore amongst multiple operations locations on an annual period.

Key Responsibilities of Supply Chain Director Position

  • Execute, oversee and coordinate daily operations
  • Evaluate and accept capital expenses as well as the departmental budgets
  • Manage operations within the Supply Chain function through identifying requirements of the company based upon legal specifications, assigning various tasks to satisfy those requirements and following up on pursuits to guarantee compliance
  • Adhere to local and national safety and health policies, corporate policies and procedures as well as the company’s environmental compliance procedure and be sure all reports do same
  • Create and approve policy regarding all Supply Chain functions
  • Negotiate deals for significant supply commodities and transportation contracts
  • Evaluate and accept additional significant purchase obligations
  • Liable for making sure that equipment, product and supply requirements of the operation are satisfied with the most cost effective and timely manner
  • Evaluate continuing reports on actions demanding knowledge of all phases of the Supply Chain function
  • Ensure ecological compliance concerning materials requiring understanding of both environmental law and mining operations
  • Make certain that exceptionally competent subordinates/managers are in place in order to monitor every Supply Chain function
  • Create reports for delivery to the company’s senior management
  • Create, prepare, coordinate, and initiate the mission and course for the most optimal and up-to-date Supply Chain functions to reduce expenditures and enhance efficiencies
  • Work with national, regional and local authorities to guarantee conformity with regulations

Essential Qualifications and/or Requirements

  • Must already have exceptional negotiating, organizational, management and interpersonal competencies
  • College degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or similar discipline
  • At least 15 years of mining environment experience in roles with business-related supervisory experience
  • Comparable experience, accreditation, and/or academic qualifications may be evaluated and substituted at the company’s discretion

Desired Qualifications

  • Finished and earned Certified Purchasing Manager designation from National Association of Purchasing Managers
