Highlights of Contracts Management Team Lead Position

The Contracting Team Lead will be responsible for the effective delivery of all contracting for third party services on behalf of the WBU user groups including TAR, Maintenance and Projects.

Key Responsibilities of Contracts Management Team Lead Position

  • Responsible for providing specialist skills necessary to develop contract strategies,
  • Leads and directs staff of 3-5
  • Routinely communicates openly and with integrity with key business stakeholders to align direction between Procurement and the WBU strategy
  • Drives and supports compliance to standards and policies. Minimizes risk and cost exposure.

Lead the contracting process and execute contract documents that mitigate risks and derive best value. Supports the cross-functional strategy development and contracting needs for the WBU, provides direction to staff and support for the Site Procurement Manager .

Leadership and Management

  • Supports and contributes to WBU objectives by leading the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the site procurement strategy related to services
  • Provides leadership and direction to staff and exerts influence over direction and events across the procurement function
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels and evaluates performance of staff (4) as required
  • Directs the development and administration of contracts for the acquisition of services.
  • Leads the contracting process to include scope development, contract strategy, RFI/RFP process, bid evaluation, contract development / execution and contract audits.
  • Works with Legal to ensure compliance with all requirements and legal statutes
  • Maintains an understanding of the services marketplace to ensure competitive positioning in the development and execution of contract strategies
  • Coordinate contract approvals with HSSE and contract users and acts as signatory for contract agreements.
  • Conducts contract negotiations and brings risk management disciplines into the contract development and negotiation process.
  • Focuses on strategic cost management by seeking contracts with the lowest TCO.
  • Leads negotiation with suppliers on individual contracts
  • Reviews contractor performance and conducts audits and ensures compliance with contract pricing, terms and conditions and service levels.
  • Participates in the development of contract briefs
  • Works with Sourcing teams to develop RFPs and drafts specialized language specific to business requirements or commodities.
  • Utilizes existing CONFIRM templates and amends as necessary based on business requirements.
  • Provides guidance to procurement specialists in developing negotiating strategies
  • Ensures the maintenance of a local contract data base and the routine management of contract renewal and renegotiation processes.
  • Ensures discipline and adherence to established policies and procedures in contract termination proceedings
