This exclusive opportunity with an industry leader offers the top candidate the chance to help lead a logistics organization. In essence, the incumbent will help analyze, develop, and execute the strategic logistics, transportation and distribution strategy and direction. With high visibility, this role will act as the primary resource for the company regarding how to structure and present logistics solutions for negotiations. As a worldwide leader, another key responsibility will be to lead or actively participate in discussions and/or negotiations with various carriers on a worldwide basis to secure optimal pricing and service. The client is currently looking to open a distribution center in Antwerp or Rotterdam. As such, the incumbent will have strong responsibility for international freight movement. Other key responsibilities will be: Create and present periodic updates to senior management on the effectiveness of the plan in cost and service; Setting up a steering committee on the logistics cost across the company. The strong incumbent must be proficient in complex logistics operational and financial modeling.

Key Responsibilities for Manager of Logistics Position
- Analyze, develop, and execute the strategic logistics, transportation and distribution strategy and direction.
- Lead and effectively work with other cross functional managers to collect and analyze current and future logistics requirements.
- Act as the primary resource for the company regarding how to structure and present logistics solutions for negotiations.
- Lead or actively participate in discussions and/or negotiations with various carriers on a worldwide basis to secure optimal pricing and service.
- Insure adequate and timely capacity is available for our demand.
- Create and present periodic updates to senior management on the effectiveness of the plan in cost and service.
- Set up a steering committee on the logistics cost across the company.
Qualifications and/or Requirements
- 8-10 years senior level management responsibility in logistics for large global companies.
- Effective hands-on negotiation experience with major carriers in sea, land and air on a worldwide basis.
- Successful performance of major cost cutting initiatives.
- Development and execution of strategic logistics planning.
- In depth knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
- Extremely proficient in complex logistics operational and financial modeling.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Effective communicator and team player.
- Creative problem solver.
- Prefer MBA in Logistics or Materials management.
