Highlights of Senior Manager of Logistics and Transportation Position
This global role will help lead logistics and transportation procurement including enhancing an already-strong process. The incumbent will be a key driver in organizational cost savings via logistics procurement. This will include being recognized as a partner to the various business and functions representing value added procurement expertise in terms of supplier/service alternatives, contract and business negotiations and best in class terms and pricing. The individual will have responsibility over multiple areas including ocean, freight, LT, LTL, air, and overnight services such as UPS. The incumbent will also have the unique opportunity of setting up a new warehouse in China as well implementing a Transportation Management System (TMS).

Key Responsibilities for Senior Manager of Logistics and Transportation Position
- Development of commodity strategies that support business requirements and leverage best in class pricing for client.
- Oversees the activities related to the procurement of transportation, logistics and brokerage services.
- Be recognized as a partner to the various business and functions representing value added procurement expertise in terms of supplier/service alternatives, contract and business negotiations and best in class terms and pricing.
- Put in place appropriate metrics, setting direction and providing feedback for continuous improvement for resources (internal and external).
- Coordinates purchasing activities with supply chain/global logistics and services departments to ensure correct services are procured and goals are met.
- The individual will have responsibility over multiple areas including ocean, freight, LT, LTL, air, and overnight services such as UPS.
- The incumbent will also have the unique opportunity of setting up a new warehouse in China.
- Look at advantages of implementing a Transportation Management System (TMS).
Qualifications and/or Requirements
- 6 + years of experience.
- Management experience. Will have multiple direct reports.
- Proven track record of developing category/commodity strategies and proven best in class performance on service and price from the selected supply base.
- Knowledge and experience of procurement tools such as e-auctions, benchmarking, and data analytics.
