This key leadership role will set the strategic and business direction of the global logistics / supply chain network. As part of an overall global transformation of their logistics / supply chain organization, the successful incumbent will help transform the function to that of world class. This global network optimization will call for the development of a compressive logistics / supply chain strategy that adheres to a strategic and value-adding logistics organization.

Key Responsibilities for Senior Logistics and Supply Chain Executive Position
- Network optimization of the entire global logistics / transportation / supply chain network of this Fortune 20 global leader.
- Development of a comprehensive transportation / logistics strategy.
- Implementation of a Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Development of a logistics sourcing and inventory management strategy.
- Development of professional sourcing methodology and strategic group that will attract and retain high quality people and put client at the forefront of performance within the industry.
- Developing a compelling case and demonstrating business value to key stakeholders.
- Transforming the function to be world class, one that is and is seen to be strategic and value adding, one that attracts and retains high quality people.
- Addressing the scale and complexity of group’s activities and delivering the scale and diversity of improvements required.
- Designing and constructing robust and effective physical supply chains for materials staging, storage, distribution and return (both for onshore and offshore environments). To include mapping and optimization of warehouse locations and modeling and optimization of transportation solutions.
- Aligning large numbers of staff, teams, disciplines, SPUs and suppliers in developing and implementing a common process in achieving effective business delivery.
- Maintaining the optimal balance between developing internal strategic capability
- Creates and leads the network, building the strategic and tactical in-house capability required to support the business.
- Identifies and supports delivery of significant business improvement – managing timely and predictable materials delivery, identifying and managing supply chain risks, assuring quality, optimizing working capital, learning and applying best practices.
- Develops Segment Strategy and supports development of SPU.
- Develops and leads implementation of common process across the Segment – holistic process scope from development of Sector Strategies, through identification and construction of optimal supply systems, through performance management and continuous improvement.
- Advises on the systems functionality.
- Develops key metrics.
- Aligns supply chain networks to achieve full effectiveness, including; mapping and optimization of Sector and regional networks, clarifying accountabilities, integrating specialist providers etc.
Qualifications and/or Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for at least 25% of the role.
- Minimum of 20 years experience in Procurement and Supply Chain roles, including in senior Materials Management leadership positions.
- Development of a comprehensive transportation / logistics strategy.
- Implementation of a Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Development of a logistics sourcing and inventory management strategy.
- Development of professional sourcing methodology and strategic group that will attract and retain high quality people and put client at the forefront of performance within the industry.
- Track record of leadership in transforming the function across a global enterprise and delivering significant business improvement.
- Skilled at developing and working with and through multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong influencing and communication skills.
- Strong business analysis and supply chain optimization skills.
- In-depth knowledge of specialist third party supply market.
- Strong HSE, quality and risk management leadership skills.
- Experience of working in variety of regions, cultures, marketplaces, regulatory environments, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the energy industry.
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, business related or Engineering discipline.
- CPM, CIPS, APICS, ILDM certification a plus.
