Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing procurement practices for areas of improvement. Develop design and procurement strategies to meet customer satisfaction targets.
  • Analyze procurement and financial data for opportunities including supplier rationalization, tenders, aggregation and specification alternatives.
  • Negotiate agreements with food, service, and equipment suppliers.
  • Maintain contracts, buy side related paperwork, and related files
  • Develop sourcing plans and budgets, track results as necessary to meet contract obligations
  • Communicate agreements and product specification and pricing to end users’ locations
  • Manage product and service transitions and new product introductions.
  • Monitor and resolve supplier performance and business issues that may occur.
  • Establish cross-functional sourcing targets such as redesign improvements, material and process standardization.
  • Integration of purchasing activities into core business process, especially new product design and design to cost efforts on existing designs.
  • Manage day-to-day supplier communications and coordinate face-to-face meetings to facilitate action item follow-up.
  • Develop relationships and opportunities for third party outsourcing of on board services.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Material Management/Engineering or equivalent
  • Three (3) to five (5) years in related purchasing or contract purchasing field.
  • Preferred candidate will have background in institutional and contract food purchasing
  • Franchise expertise a plus
  • Alcoholic beverage experience a plus
  • Proficient in using Microsoft: Word, Excel, Outlook, Project.
  • SAP knowledge a plus.
  • Contract and negotiation skills
  • Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) knowledge required.
  • Ability to reduce complex issues to basic components
  • Strong written and oral communications.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Ability to communicate & influence others.
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically.
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) a plus
