Our client has never had a professional supply chain & procurement function.  This is a greenfield opportunity to build an organization from the ground up.  Also, this position reports directly to the CEO.  In addition, our client is owned by the premier private equity firm in the world.

Key Responsibilities of Global MRO Supply Chain Manager Position

  • Develop strategies, establish objectives for organizing and leveraging MRO purchasing across 40+ North American facilities based upon overall corporate wide supply chain directives and local site specific needs.
  • Develop strategic sourcing plans, analyze options, manage sourcing initiatives, establish strategic supplier partnerships and implement cross corporate supplier relationships.  Manage local site and strategic supplier relationship expectations as needed.
  • Analyze MRO spend (approx $25MM annually), identify cost savings opportunities and manage/conduct supplier negotiations to achieve cost improvements.
  • Develop and implement strategies for integration of on-going MRO spend with capital equipment sourcing processes.
  • Manage National MRO spend data collection efforts.  Organize data and develop reporting formats and systems to provide timely and accurate spend information as required.
  • Develop, implement and drive cross divisional scorecards, productivity and cost improvement programs.
  • Manage cross-divisional collaborative MRO team to ensure divisional input into MRO commodity management strategic planning objectives.

Qualifications and/or Requirements

  • BA/BS Business, Supply Chain degree, preferably in a related discipline. MBA desirable.
  • 8 -10 years of experience in supply chain management with an emphasis on indirect materials and factory MRO purchasing.
  • Direct experience collaborating with factory MRO stakeholders (Maintenance, Engineering, Production)
  • Track record of working independently and developing a collaborative consensus across business landscape.
  • CPM certification
  • Strong financial analysis capabilities with ability to evaluate spend trends, develop accurate projections and make appropriate recommendations/plans
  • Experience bridging MRO strategic sourcing and capital equipment rationalization processes
  • Experience with writing and negotiating strategic sourcing contracts
  • Experience at utilizing e-sourcing tools and reducing acquisition costs
  • Proven responsibility for managing on-going supplier performance, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Project management experience
  • Experience in leading cross functional teams
  • International MRO procurement experience helpful
  • Strong negotiating skills required
  • Strong mediation skills required
  • Strong results focus
  • Excellent communications/presentation abilities
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint
  • Excellent customer skills
  • Ability to network well both internally and externally
  • Experience with a wide variety of materials
