Key Responsibilities of Manager of Packaging eSourcing Specialist Position

  • Identifying, managing, and delivering commercially favorable contracts and one-off cost savings opportunities associated with supplier agreements.
  • Delivering optimal value for strategic packaging categories to our Client’s Business Units by using best practices, professional tools and techniques.
  • This role manages assigned packaging procurement across the company to ensure that value delivery targets from sourcing are achieved for each individual business unit and for the company as a whole, that on-line, off-line negotiations, sound contract management practices and project implementation methodologies are developed and implemented in an auditable fashion, and that procurement processes correspond to the control polices in place.
  • Identify, define, and lead change efforts for supply and value chain packaging solutions
  • Highly skilled and experienced e-Sourcing Subject Matter Expert with the assigned administration responsibilities.
  • Proven commercial experience within key packaging categories (corrugate, folding cartons, flexible film, rigid plastic containers) in “cost plus” modeling and analysis to better drive value creation.
  • Conduct market research and analysis using qualitative and quantitative skills that will result in recommendations to procurement leadership and managers.
  • Collect, collate, analyze, and distribute marketplace research data in a timely fashion to enable our Client gain and sustain a competitive edge in the industry
  • Develop, manage, and maintain strategic supplier relationships
  • Proactively develop, recommend, and implement business cases and solutions
  • Interface with the with cross-functional teams to consolidate supply base and standardize products and processes
  • Interface with the supply chain disciplines to ensure forecasting, planning, and scheduling are performed for the assigned categories
  • Develop performance goals and objectives for assigned category areas and the continual assessment process
  • Establish, revise, and monitor supplier performance
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and third-party requirements

Qualifications and/or Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Must have in-depth e-sourcing negotiation skills and experience
  • 5-10 years of Packaging Procurement management experience; 5 years being minimum
  • CPM and Six Sigma experience a plus
  • Strong computer and analytical abilities
  • Manufacturing, Finance, Planning and/or Logistics experience a plus
  • Good people skills and a ‘can do’ attitude
