Recruited to bring a combination of deep IT knowledge paired with professional sourcing experience.  Promoted to newly created role, Sr. Manager of IT Sourcing, six months after joining with two direct reports.  Significantly improved the relationship between IT and Sourcing within the first month of service.  As a result, a record-level of engagement was established with the CIO’s staff and earlier involvement in IT projects achieved.  Within the first 15 months, two additional direct report roles were created to assist managing the additional influx of projects.

  • Developed and executed regional sourcing strategies for the $120 Million IT commodities spend in all Company facilities worldwide.
  • Saved $14M within 1 year as lead buyer in implementation of electrical commodity supply base consolidation program at Company production locations.

Recruited primarily to improve the contract quality and intra-departmental relationships with the logistics/transportation sourcing team.  Within seven months, contract quality was above acceptable, template-based contracts implemented, and relationships greatly improved.  Lead or involved in sourcing strategies for transportation initiatives at international locations.  Formulated strategy, process, and tool to improve intra-company communications and awareness to recognize the value of the sourcing team.

  • Managing all transportation and logistics activities globally, supported by regional transportation managers, supply chain managers and customer service in Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and South America.
  • Responsible for global strategy, development of 2005 road map targeted to save 11% on $88 million annual budget.  In first month saved $1M through renegotiating with key suppliers, changing tier 1 transit lane awards and requiring rebates from primary suppliers whose rates were perceived to be too high.
  • Key projects – North America Truck Load and Less than Truck Load consolidation which will reduce trucking vendors from 112 to six with established pricing, Global third party logistics RFP – implementing seven new warehouses to support each of the company’s primary regions, Tier 1 lane RFP which primary shipping Air and Sea lanes to best valued freight forwarders.

Responsible for globally sourcing software, hardware, consulting, and telecommunications for the US.  Performed sourcing as a virtual, global team member and was often the leader of the cross-functional team.  Operated in a complex, highly matrixed environment where 87% of IT was outsourced to one provider.  Managed the commercial relationship with the supplier of IT outsourcing for the on-site account team.

  • Managed seven subcontracts (hardware, software and engineering services; cost plus award fee, and fixed fee) and their project milestones totaling over $98 million dollars
