- The CEO had a reputation of being very picky, so much so that the VP of Human Resources wished us good luck but declared we would “never” fill this search (We bet him a steak dinner we would succeed)
- The company had an extremely narrow specification
- Not only were they paying below market rate but demanded world class talent
